Great place!!!! Lots of history and fantastic merry go round horses! Even a merry go round that you can ride. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Took my parents and sisters, all over 50, (and dad doesn't like most things if he's not into it) but we all had a blast! SOOOO many different carved masterpieces. And the small details. They are all different! We spent maybe an hour and a half here. Tofts ice cream is highly recommended about 5 miles east on RT6!
Didn't actually make it inside the museum as they were closed. But the building itself is impressive. The design was really cool. They had it all decorated for Halloween with skeletons. Hope to make it back one day and get to see the inside and the merry go rounds.
Cool Carousel Museum inside an old Post Office. They have a full sized working carousel inside the building. You get one free ride with admission 🎠
So beautiful 😻 we all had a blast. My Aunt's, Mother, and I had an adventurous road trip planned. This was our main destination amongst the others. Thank you for the informative caretaker of the museum in taking the time with us all. She ran the whole operations like a professional does. Tickets, gift shop, answered questions and offered even more in information to running the carousel rides and the gorgeous organs. Thoroughly enjoyed it all. Very pleasant experience and will be back. Bear? Got to see Mr. Frog 🐸 jumping on the carousel 🎠. I do not remember a bear 🐻.
I am so glad I made that part of my vacation. Fun going on the large merry go round and looking at all the antique retired horses and seats. Each one has such beautiful artwork. Staff friendly and informative. They have programs for school-age children to learn about carving and designing the horses.
Entry fee includes a merry-go-round ride. Realltly cool to see all the historic hand carved animals
This place is magical! If you're in Sandusky (or nearby), take an afternoon to visit the museum, see all the wonderful carousel animals, and ride the carousel 🎠. It is a delight for all ages and beautifully housed inside a historic post office. Ticket fees are nominal and include a carousel ride.
